Terrence Cole, CPA, MBA
Terrence is originally from Memphis, TN, but relocated to Tampa, FL, in 2009. He graduated from Mississippi Valley State University with a Bachelor‘s of Science in Accounting and a minor in Business Administration. He earned his Master of Business Administration with a focus in Management from Argosy University in 2012.
Terrence started his career as a staff accountant in 2009 before transitioning into the role of controller for National Tax Center in 2012. At National Tax Center, Terrence spent time focusing on improving internal operation processes, financial reporting and managing business client services, working specifically with small and mid-size businesses. In 2014, Terrence went on to gain international tax experience at World Triathlon Corporation (Ironman). In 2016, he earned his Certified Public Accountant license in Florida. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, a professional member of the Institute of Management Accountants, and a member of Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity.
Since starting Cole & Associates, Terrence has focused on building a business and individual consulting model that takes a holistic approach to tax efficiency and planning. As an advisor, he is dedicated to using his experience and expertise to help his clients achieve success and financial wealth. Terrence has 10 years of experience in public accounting and specializes in tax compliance, financial reporting, and research.
Carlean Cole, MBA
Originally from Memphis, TN, Carlean relocated to Tampa, FL, in 2017. She graduated from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with a Bachelor‘s of Science in Accounting and General Management. She earned her Master of Business Administration focusing in Human Resource Management (HRM) from the University of Phoenix in 2017.
Carlean joined the firm as a consultant, bringing five years of experience in general accounting, staff recruitment, benefits administration, payroll tax reporting, training, and compliance. She has experience in employment research and policy implementation, I-9 audits, personnel file audits, and more. She enjoys working with clients to develop plans that enhance their HR practices. Carlean is a professional member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).
Barnell “BJ” Jones, Enrolled Agent
Barnell “BJ” Jones is the President/CFO of National Tax Centers Accounting Firm with offices in Mississippi and Texas. The firm was founded by his mother, Pinky L. Jones, in 1984 and has a wide variety of skilled professionals ranging from Tax Professionals, Bookkeepers, CPA’s, Enrolled Agents and a network of Tax Attorneys. Barnell received his accounting degree from Mississippi State University in 2004 and is also a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.
Since the age of 10, Barnell grew up learning about accounting, taxation and entrepreneurship from his mother who is a former IRS Agent and his father who is a licensed General Contractor.
He is an entrepreneur with over 18+ years experience as an accountant and a federally authorized licensed tax practitioner who can represent individual and business taxpayers before the IRS and State Agencies nationwide. His Enrolled Agent designation is the highest credential awarded by the Internal Revenue Service.
Barnell expertise ranges from but not limited to individual and corporate taxation in all industries, business start-ups, acquisitions and mergers, executive management/leadership, human resources, legal, accounting and bookkeeping, payroll and payroll tax laws, financial consulting, and IRS representation. He is recognized by clients and colleagues as a consummate professional and entrepreneur with a high degree of personal integrity and known for having a contagious passion for excellence, a talent for resourceful business solutions, and a capacity for motivational leadership for our younger generation.
He has a practical, ethical and honest way of educating his clients, staff/colleagues and student interns which makes him trustworthy. Barnell success of leadership has groomed young leaders into rewarding careers as IRS agents, CPAs, Accountants and HR Professionals just to name a few.
Barnell’s passion and core strength is his success in resolving IRS issues for individual and business taxpayers nationwide who has owed the IRS millions of dollars. Barnell is a serial entrepreneur with ownership in several companies including but not limited to Accounting Firms, Residential & Commercial Construction Company, Transportation & Logistics Company, IRS Representation Firm, ATV Park & Recreation, Tax Software Sales & Marketing Firm, and Real Estate.
